Dragons Part of World Record

NORTH BUXTON – Dancing in a Soul Train Line has long been a part of the Homecoming Labour Day weekend celebration here, but this tiny community may soon have worldwide bragging rights.

Unofficially, a total of 434 people and 6 Dragons took park in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest Soul Train Line on Monday, which is more than the current record of 426, said Michelle Robbins, president of Buxton Next Generation, which organized the event.

She said they plan to review the video, which will be part of the submission to Guinness, to confirm the final number.

“The wait is on, so once they send us back it’s officially ours, then we’re going to have another celebration,” Robbins laughed.
